This filter solves the hum when plugging earphones that have integrated mic (4 poles) into an old receiver. In my particular case the connection must be done in a certain way as in one of the pictures where you can see a white earpod to the right of the word “essager audio” and to the left is the 3.4mm cable into the receiver. My receiver is a sony str-db795.

It delivers! Meaning, it performs the functions as described. It is able to remove or minimize unnecessary noise especially whereby there is too much bass which tends to disrupts and impedes full range speakers. Whereby there is no subwoofer available to displace the “over-bass” so to speak it works wonders. It doesn’t matter which side you plug into it, it will work. It works wonders when playing lossless and/or hi-res music files.
