Susann Masson –
It came in perfect order. Very good device, works and smoothes out the lines of Super Nintendo graphics perfectly. Remembering that it only works on NTSC consoles. The Super Nintendos sold in Brazil by Gradiente/Playtronic are usually all PAL-M… and they stay in black and white.
Verline Cordon –
It works very well. For PS1 games, I recommend turning off the smoothing mode. You can definitely see a difference on the LCD TV screen. I recommend it to everyone who wants to improve their experience with old games, at a reasonable price.
Ira Forster –
Excellent converter. Only with it i managed to get a good picture on the monitor from my 8-bit microcomputer “tim011”. I am very satisfied.
Xose Mendez –
Product arrived safe and sound. Nice packaging and manual. It cleaned up the image nicely for n64 and dreamcast via s-video. More so dreamcast, specifically on passthrough mode since s-video doesn’t do 480p if i recall. In any case, well worth the $41. Wayyy better and cheaper than getting an hdmi adapter for consoles individually and a good first step into the world of video scalers. Thanks!
Emmanuel Gillie –
I bought it to use on my Nintendo 64 and really liked the result. It’s easy to use, and with an S-video cable, the image of the 64 becomes even better, and now I’m playing every day on my console. The delivery was very fast, I am very satisfied.
Demarcus Mcmullen –
Significantly improves the quality for N64 and SNES. Although the format is only 4:3, the colors and image sharpness are really good. Absolutely flicker-free. Great converter.
Liberatore Accordino –
Great device for older consoles, a worthwhile purchase, I recommend it. My Pegasus console looks perfect, great image quality and no lag during gameplay, just as described. Big thumbs up for the fast shipping.
Gianmaria De Sario –
The equipment works really well, especially considering its price. I once had some cheaper converters and they were hopeless. I also regretted spending almost 1000 PLN on more pro-tools. This RetroScaler is really good and worth buying for every retro-enthusiast!
Graham Rankin –
It was quick plug and play. It sharpened the images for the ps1 a lot better compared to a simple hd converter. I definitely recommend if you want to use an old console on a new tv.
Aliya Fernandez –
I bought the retroscaler2x hoping it would make my retro consoles look a little less like they were broadcasting from a potato, and honestly… this thing delivered. Plugged in my ps2, gamecube, and n64 and suddenly everything looked like they took a shower, got a job, and got their life together. No complicated setup, no app, no drama — just pure, instant video glow-up. The build quality is way better than i expected for temu, and it even comes in a case that makes me feel like i’m carrying classified government hardware. The colors are cleaner, the lag is basically nonexistent, and it handled every console i threw at it like a champ. If you love retro gaming or just want your old consoles to stop looking like they’re rebuilding themselves pixel by pixel, this is a must-have. Worth every penny.
Franchesca Schwebach –
It’s a scaler that line doubles your 240p consoles to 480p. Gives you multiple inputs and gives out one hdmi output which you can connect to modern displays. Very good price and since some new tvs dont have older analog inputs this is the way to get your old retro game consoles to work on new hdmi only tvs!
Alisa Watts –
Connected my sega genesis to it using the rgb to component cables adapter then component cables to the retroscaler2x, outputs 480p to my hdtv, works great and looks good!
Patty Balser –
Awesome item scaling with smoothing up to 720p games look great on ps1 and ps2
Lisabeth Brennen –
It’s wonderful, super necessary to be able to watch video games natively as it looked on the console originally. On PS2, the difference with the device’s filters isn’t as noticeable, but on PSX the improvement and upscaling are incredible, very good graphic quality. It has nothing to do with a regular converter; this one truly gives you the original image as it should be. Essential for playing retro consoles.
Nour Hartman –
This works fantastic! I’ve used on my nintendo 64 and dreamcast since they both have s-video connections only (though the dreamcast has vga with really odd resolution issues and compatibility). First up – no input lag. I’m heavy into fighting games. Street fighter, capcom vs. snk, marvel vs. capcom…they all play perfect here. No setting differences caused input lag either, so great news there.
For an older system like the n64, you’re not going to get crystal clear quality. It’s a blurry system by default. That said, i used the “s-video” and “2x” settings on my retroscaler device and that was the best combination. For the dreamcast, i found the “2x” setting caused a slight vibration look as it’s inducing extra scan lines to make a 480p image.
You will get feedback/crosshatch issues if you plug in both the composite (yellow) and s-video. Pick one. S-video is better and will show the pixels a bit more clearly. Outputs as 480p, use your tv to set 4:3 or widescreen.
Dieter Krist –
Excellent product. It works wonderfully and perfectly fulfills what was promised. I specifically tested it with a Sega Saturn and the image quality improved significantly, with a stable signal and no noticeable lag. Installation was very simple (plug and play). Very satisfied with the purchase, highly recommended for retro consoles.
Windy Milnes –
The product arrived a bit late due to the postal strike, but it arrived in perfect condition. It solved an issue I was having with my PS2 because of a new monitor I have that doesn’t accept the native resolution of the PS2, which is 480i. The Retroscaller 2X resolved this because it reaches a resolution of 480p, and the image looked great on my monitor with the component cable. The Nintendo 64 also looked great with the S-Video cable. The device only works on NTSC devices. Great value for money, I recommend buying it.
Armaan Ellison –
It is worth the price. It upscaled my ps2 games pretty well. If you have an older console and a newer television that doesn’t have component outputs, then this would help with pairing the two together.
Major Woodrum –
Picture quality is great compared to cheaper alternatives.
Using with pal n64, works great for regular carts. Summercart 64 has issues with not outputting sound and video at the same time.
Have learned s-video cable works in this specific instance rather than traditional composite cables. Have order s-video cables to be able to use the retroscaler with summercart.
Winston Hyde –
Spectacular, I’m speechless. Tested with all my European PAL consoles with composite video connector (Yellow, Red, and White cable). It works with absolutely all of them, from 8-bit to the seventh generation. It even works with a modified Sega Master System to obtain composite video output instead of its usual RF (antenna) output. It has also worked with clone NES consoles.
Fully compatible with Elgato HD60 capture device.
It is necessary to have mode 2X permanently activated to obtain a video signal on the capture device, or the screen will appear black. Knowing this, everything is perfect and the RetroScaler has worked with absolutely everything I’ve thrown at it. The image quality is far superior to any other composite-to-HDMI video converter I have tested.
Great product, highly recommended.
Marlen Akhmetov –
Excellent product, very happy with the purchase. I recommend buying the SNES to SVideo cable separately as it greatly improves the image quality. Tested on a SNES with the SD2SNES cartridge, it works perfectly.
Tandy Hoyte –
Very good, managed to achieve greater image stability in “double line” mode than in GBS-C PRO, highly recommend for those who want to play SNES with good quality. Remembering that for better results, it’s recommended to use shielded cables, the difference is absurd compared to cheap cables.
Isadora Heer –
Everything arrived perfectly, well-packaged, and works wonderfully. If you are going to use it on an American Super Nintendo or Japanese Nintendo 64 (as is my case), there is a significant change in scaling. Really, if you are looking for a good “plug and play” scaling option, this is the most suitable choice. An OSSC for example requires prior configuration and is a greater investment in good Scart cables (alternative cables also work but more benefit is gained with an OSSC using quality Scart cables), without much complication the 2x retroscaler is very good scaling and if it’s true scaling, be aware that it is not a simple video converter. My final recommendation is that you buy an “S Video” cable for the SNES and Nintendo 64 to get the most out of the retroscaler. I hope this review helps you.
Cassey Odle –
It is worth the price. It upscaled my ps2 games pretty well. If you have an older console and a newer television that doesn’t have component outputs, then this would help with pairing the two together.
Jaqueline Phipps –
Very fast shipping. Very well packaged and beautiful. Tested with a PS1 (PAL) connected via RCA with options 2x and FIL (Smoothing) activated and very good quality on a 50″ Samsung NeoQled smart TV.
Wendelin Jonas –
I have an N64 PAL connected to an LCD monitor, from the N64 a PAL SVideo cable goes to the RetroScaler 2x, and from there HDMI to the monitor.
The video quality has improved considerably, recommended purchase if you want to connect a retro console and don’t have a CRT.
Starr Lheureux –
Connected my sega genesis to it using the rgb to component cables adapter then component cables to the retroscaler2x, outputs 480p to my hdtv, works great and looks good!
Klemens Totleben –
Perfect, very well packaged, works great on my recent Samsung TV with the Nintendo 64, no bugs, sound and image are okay, nothing to say
Korey Wu –
Shipping was almost a week faster than expected, the product itself works great and got my pal nintendo 64 plugged to pc monitor easily.
Clarita Pursell –
The Retroscaler 2x is great for playing your old game consoles on the TV almost latency-free. I used to have a PS2 to HDMI adapter for my PS2 before, but it had way too much latency. The Retroscaler is a cost-effective alternative to other upscalers. Unbeatable for the price! Strong recommendation!

Zoraida Swick –
It worked perfectly on my PS2 Fat. The improvement in serrilhado is remarkable. The material of the converter and cable is of high quality.
Alfredo Lamanna –
This thing is fantastic. Has a smoothing filter that is subtle but effective. Might need to adjust your screen colors to your liking, but as far as retro scalers go, this is 3x the value for the money spent. I just ordered a second one for my upstairs tv.
Sigmund Bruckmann –
Works well and meets expectations. Good value for money. Doesn’t have any fancy features or settings, but the picture is nice and strong, and there’s no lag when playing If you can’t afford expensive scalers for over 100€ and only use them for the occasional retro console, this is a great option.
Lakisha Mullenix –
Fantastic, just what i needed for retro gaming on modern tv Works on n64, mega drive, master system and snes
Takako Ream –
No issues at all, works great when used with a component cable connection. Shipping was very fast compared to how it used to be years ago. Can recommend to anyone looking to get a better experience playing ps2 or other consoles on a modern tv, much better to get this rather than spend several hundred on the other tech most people recommend, looks and plays about the same. One thing to keep in mind is when using the 2x and fil settings (especially on oled or ultra hd tvs) screen retention and possible burn in happens very quickly, left my tv on during a pause screen for about 30 minutes and caused bad retention on my screen for about 20 minutes until the tv refreshed itself, to be safe i recommend playing without these settings enabled especially if you have an expensive tv. However for the price and the performance of this device i highly recommend it!
Bonnie Montes –
I am using the retro scaler x2 with the retro scaler component cable and the picture quality has improved a lot.
I would highly recommend buying it for the price if you want to play ps2 games on a tv or projector it’s very good quality picture and the games run better also.
Its better than a cheap hdmi it’s not perfect but a massive improvement in my opinion.
Coleen Dragon –
It seems like a great purchase to me, it’s of fair quality for what the image offers. It looks much better than connecting the original Nintendo 64 cables directly to the television. It’s a great improvement, the response is instant, there’s no input lag, the brightness looks good and the sound is heard very well. Highly recommended.
Maximilien Chopin –
Very compact product, easy to use and effective from the first use in my RCA case on PlayStation 1.
Rudolf Kirsch –
Great retrotink2x clone with nice upgrades. This retroscaler2x has a full sized hdmi port vs retrotink’s mini hdmi port. Restroscaler2x also has an on/off switch which is great! Perfect for your consoles with composite, s-video or component outputs line doubled to your tv. You can also set the retroscaler to passthrough mode and your tv will upscale the display for you.
Alpha Um –
I used it with composite connection on ps2, ss, sfc, and pce.duo without any problems. The picture quality is also good. Component connection on ps2 also works well.
Vladimiro De Angelo –
Delivers what it promises, gives a very good improvement on the Super Famicom with the S-video and Famicom AV cable.
Dastan Nurbolatev –
Very impressed with this little box, so far it has been great. I’ve used an s-video cable to connect both my n64 and my super nintendo to this, then via the hdmi out to my samsung flat screen. I set the aspect ratio to 4:3 on my tv, and used the 2x mode and the fil setting (the blue light is on when you turn it on), and wow both of these consoles look great. Definitely a huge improvement over using those cheap av to hdmi converters. This really does make the picture much better.
Kholmatzhon Daniarov –

Roderick Roth –
It arrived quickly, I am surprised by the image quality, my C64 has regained its shine since my last CRT TV was replaced. The previous device for converting the image to HDMI was not that good. In terms of price to image quality, 5*. I can definitely recommend it. PSX games also look great.
Anacleto Adornetto –
Absolutely fantastic. Works great. With my mastersystem 1 and megadrive 2. Crystal clear picture. Smother than original crt tvs. Or can turn smoothing of for a more accurate experience of original game looks. No lag really smooth. Excellent appearance no need to tuck away behind anything looks good sitting right next to retro game consoles.
Mammie Aguiniga –
I bought it to revive my old N64. Obviously, it doesn’t look the same as it did with the old TVs due to the panel and because the TVs are much bigger now, but with the options it offers to scale the image, different connection modes, and the fact that it works with various consoles, it’s worth it.
Della Drew –
Great converter! You have to press around a bit to find the best setting (for me YPBPR, even though only CVBS is connected, Smoothing on) and then it looks really good – especially for the price! – a thousand times better than those junkies for 5 euros and almost as good as the noble converters for 150 and more! I have used it so far with NES and SNES.
Marchelle Dowden –
The best upscaler I’ve ever had, I have many here but none do what this little guy does. The PS2 looks amazing and even the PS1, which has ugly graphics, can be made smooth and beautiful with the filter!
Gérald Courbet –
Scaler really excellent for sending via HDMI a signal that can be correctly recognized by most modern TVs. Excellent sound and image quality, easy to use and no lag. As a passionate retrogamer, I highly recommend it (also due to its excellent price). I myself believe that I will purchase more in the future. At the moment I am using it with a PS2 SLIM on a Sony 32″ TV.
Kemberly Roza –
It works perfectly, on an 85-inch 4K screen, I like that if it enhances graphics, it fulfills its function. I can relive my old consoles with nostalgia.
Daanyal Shepard –
Having been so impressed with the first one i purchased i bought another to use with my pc monitor. The scaler doesn’t do anything crazy in regards to upscaling but it’s real magic is in removing the ugly combing effect caused by displaying an interlaced signal (meant for an old crt tv) on a modern led tv screen. The smoothing fuction is only very beneficial for some games. Arrived amazing quickly, too!
Lelah Pelosi –

Emma Carra –
Perfect cheap scaler! Quality is really high, unfortunate it doesn’t support rgb despite saying so on the side, but with an rgb to component converter it works fine.
Another thing, whenever you power it on you have to cylce through the smoothing modes or it doesn’t display an image. Which is a little annoying.
Branda Goshorn –
It works perfectly when combined with an HD component cable, and although there are good, cheaper solutions, this device can fit many consoles and is a truly well-made product. Thank you.
Ildefonso Sollami –
I absolutely recommend. It does its job excellently, allowing the use of Component cable (red, green, blue) to achieve perfect colors and a well-defined image.
Lorean Soni –

Mahi Reid –
Works fine for gamecube, displaying to a 4k oled. Multiple options to get clearer pictures which im sure are for lower resolution televisions. The additional ports make this a great multi use tool
Miriam Perry –
Spectacular, it works without lag which is very noticeable, and the improvement in image quality compared to other cheaper converters makes it worth paying a little more. I previously bought several models that directly switched from AV to HDMI, and the input lag was terrible with a lot of noise in the image. This product is highly recommended.
Diedra Spath –

Sarina Santos –
This thing is awesome. Plug and play, doubles the resolution and even has an s video input. Would recommend 100%
Samirah Hood –
Item arrived quickly and works well. The scaling is a little jittery on my tv but with everything off it looks awesome. Using my old ps2 on a 4k 65 inch tv is really cool and the number of different inputs is great.
Thibault Silvestre –
I would say it’s a must have for the 6th generation consoles it really helps, especially the softening filter really helps the image quite a lot. Input latency is next to nothing.
Rosalie Robertson –
Excellent product, I tested it with all the retro consoles I have at the moment and it worked wonderfully on the classic Xbox, PS2, Wii, and GameCube. I highly recommend it.
Devon Huntoon –
Fast shipping, in good condition, tested and works fine (I have tested a NES via AV, N64 via AV, and PS2 via AV and component, all of them PAL, I couldn’t test S-Video because I don’t have one). The display options are very intuitive and simple, it’s more than enough with the 2 buttons on the case. Recommended.
Craig Piro –

Ellie Julius –
The image looks great using this retroScaler2x, it was worth the investment.
Tested together with a Bitfunx RGBS converter with a SuperGun for NeoGeo MVS and an SCART MD2 cable, 24-inch HDMI 75Hz display screen.
Shanda Gatling –
I use it with a Sega Megadrive and everything goes perfectly, it has a button to smooth out the pixels.
