Creaking noise
Pictures, specially #3 and the video in the marketing is of a similar but different style of product. If you look at the four screw holes you will see that the #3 pic and the video is different style where the four screws go into you can mark easily with a pencil. However being a handyman, I managed to figure out how to install it. Secondly, the 4 (they actually sent three only) white cover to cover the screw holes did not align properly into the screw holes. The product is solidly built mostly metal except for the slider plate to have less friction.Any regular handyman can install it.Just installed it. Works OK. Good value for money.Three stars due to different style sent and not entirely proper instructions on the packaging and the video installation instructions. It snow creaking like crazy!!! cant get a break!!

It’s ok
Product was easy to install. It does scratch easily so be careful around it. It does work ok. My only issue is that the springs inside are really loud when it opens and closes the doors. I feel the company could have greased the springs better to avoid this. I originally installed this so my pets can go in and out of our bedroom and have the door automatically close behind them and keep outside noise out. But the loud springs now wake me so that defeats the purpose of installing this.

Fix for spring noise
I contacted Gib and they gave me a solution. It’s not difficult and all noise is now gone. The image is an exploded view of the closer. The noise comes from the coils of the springs rubbing inside the Gibcloser. The noise can be eliminated from the closer. Here are the steps to lubricate the springs.1. First, release all the tension of the closer.2. Next unscrew the assembly screw at the bottom.3. Brush in some wheel bearing grease (I used white lithium grease) in between the spring rings with a small craft brush (or finger or stick, anything really). Avoid using lubricants like WD-40 which actually breaks down any lubricating grease already inside.4. Insert the spring ends into the top and bottom assemblies and then the other ends into the adjustment disk.5. Then reassemble the housing putting back in the assembly screw.6. Install closer back onto the door.7. Finally, re-tension the adjustment disk in the center. You can over tighten the tension of a GibCloser. Here is the warning on over tensioning the closer. (see image attached)The adjustment disk can be adjusted a maximum or 4 hole spaces before the springs will buckle.

Works great, but springs creak and groan
It is a great product and does exactly what it is designed to do, but maybe mine missed the greasing process during manunfactuing. The springs started making a lot of noise after just a month. Hopefully it can be disassembled and greased.

Fire doodle
Could not get it to close the door tightly. It was a fire door so it was important for it close tightly.
